I offered this for using a couple of grounding rods but in addition found it useful around the backyard for riding 4-foot pieces of outdated 1-1/2" steel pipe into the bottom to toughen 2 x 12 lumber and railroad ties used for terracing hillside. What would have taken me all day, if imaginable by means of sledge hammer, used to be accomplished in quarter-hour. This was in clay and river rock ground in San Diego.

The instrument's weight will do the remaining. This adapter will mean you can drive the rod somewhat closer to grade without digging.
SDS Max and spline hammers will pressure rod but you want an adapter and you actually need to lean laborious on the software.
